Bridge

Girders shiver in massive convocation
- a backward stretching harmony in unlikely elevation
while to seaward and landward the taut strung cables,
the seamist and rugged cloud remind me of fables
that opposition is life; existence is strife;
And all is divided on the blade of a knife.
Bridging the gap with words, creating tension;
stressing language's asymmetrical scansion

Sets against that difference the fragility
Which cannot be hid save through lexical agility.
