sided streets - stairs praising
the perpendicular the multi hued

geometry of living spaces where
traces of decades accrete
on vertical sidewalks

Sun warmed half cut hippies
lounge on doorsteps offer peace
man shanti; pass the bottle

Golden Gate Park welcomes with
japanese gardens calm
ponds where swans glide aping
Their Majesties

Outside monstrous edifices loom
over hectic thoroughfares, starbucks
skaters trams all kinds of traffic wrestle;
hustlers lost on corners in all this vastness...
