You must remember weddings where bride and groom
Photographers and guests
and kids and booze
(and some old geezer having a quick snooze);
Wedding cakes, all that paraphernalia
Jostled for space
with a few muttered words
and a kiss
And the long years after to rue the fact.
Thank God the whole performance has been streamlined now
four minutes, four words on the dotted line
"I am yours and you are mine"
no regrets - yet - and the scene all set
For a quick divorce.
